About Garden Help Cornwall

Garden Help Cornwall was launched in May 2020 to fill a gap in the market for skilled professional gardeners who can offer more than the traditional lawn cutting service. Much of Garden Help Cornwall's work involves taking full responsibility for Garden Help Cornwall's customers’ gardens, using Garden Help Cornwall's experience and judgement to ensure that every aspect looks its best all year around. Garden Help Cornwall's business has grown strongly and consistently since launch and Garden Help Cornwall is now looking to recruit several talented, experienced gardeners on a self-employed contractor basis. You will be primarily based in Penwith and will cover Penzance, Hayle, St. Ives and surrounding areas.

Job Responsibilities

• Manage customer gardens and ensure quality maintenance
• Work on a self-employed basis with assigned customers through a central office system
• Organize work according to your preferences and availability
• Handle disposal of green waste and sale of garden materials and planting

Pay and Earnings

Each booking comprises of 3.5 hours paid at a rate of £18/hour. On average, there are 2-3 bookings available per day depending on the time of year, and contractors choosing to work 35 hours per week could earn in excess of £30,000 per annum.

Skills and Experience

Experience can be gained in many different ways, and it’s not essential to have previously worked as a professional gardener. However, you should demonstrate:

• A long-standing interest in gardening
• A relevant skillset and a keenness to learn
• The ability to uphold the high quality and reliability that Garden Help Cornwall is known for
