Overview

National Trust’re looking for a Visitor Experience Officer to join National Trust at Dunstable Downs. Your role is all about people – connecting with them, inspiring them, and making sure they have the best possible day when they come to visit.

Hours

22.5 hours per week, regular weekend working will be required. You'll need to be flexible as you'll be working different days each week.

What It's Like to Work Here

You will be one of two part-time Visitor Experience Officers that work together to lead a small and dynamic team of Welcome and Service Assistants. You and your team will work closely with dedicated volunteers to ensure National Trust always have a friendly face to greet National Trust's visitors and help them to enjoy their visit. You'll work closely with National Trust's Senior Visitor Experience Officer to develop experiences that will move, teach, and inspire visitors.

Key Responsibilities

Your main focus will be on providing great service for visitors. With your team, you’ll be welcoming people and inspiring them to really get to know Dunstable Downs. This might include:

  • Devising and running events and activities
  • Creating interpretive displays and other ways of bringing the place, and its stories, to life

You will model excellent customer service ensuring that visitors' expectations are met. As a team leader, you will:

  1. Coach, train, and support your team
  2. Focus on growing support through fundraising and membership
  3. Engage visitors with the work that National Trust do

Who National Trust're Looking For

National Trust'd love to hear from you if you’re:

  • Used to multiple deadlines and managing your own workload
  • Skilled in organization and planning, with a good eye for detail
  • Good at talking to, and getting on with, all kinds of people
  • A hard-working and committed team player
  • Comfortable with IT: Microsoft Office, as well as web and social media
  • Experienced in producing interpretive materials, such as displays and exhibitions
  • Familiar with health and safety procedures
