As the expert in condition monitoring, you’ll support Thames Water's Engineering and Asset functions to exceed customer expectations and regulatory standards. As a Condition Monitoring (Vibration) and Lubrication Engineer, you’ll enhance Thames Water's vibration condition monitoring strategy, a crucial part of Thames Water's innovative maintenance approach for the AMP8 plan. Collaborate with operational teams to ensure effective delivery of the condition monitoring plan and partner with project teams to provide expert guidance on equipment specifications.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Conducting routine vibration-based condition monitoring analysis on critical assets.
  • Creation of reporting and recommendations to Operations Functions and Asset Management.
  • Recommending improvements to maintenance regimes based on long-term trended data.
  • Carrying out technical appraisals on asset base and making recommendations for the most appropriate condition-based maintenance regime for effective whole-life cost.
  • Ensuring efficient data collection routines are being carried out and that databases are kept up to date.
  • Following through condition-triggered work to completion, visiting the site as necessary to assist/check the effectiveness of the solution.
  • Conducting lubrication surveys, raising recommendations based on findings to extend asset life.

This hybrid role will be based in one of Thames Water's North London offices. You will be required to be in the office or on-site twice a week, as the business needs. The position is for 36 hours a week, from Monday to Friday. You must be a driver. A Thames Water van will be provided for this role, as you must transport large equipment.

What you should bring to the role:

  • A mechanical engineering degree or HNC as well as a Level 2 Vibration Analysis (BINDT or Mobius) qualification.
  • Engineering background gained within an operational/maintenance environment.
  • Knowledge of how to capture, analyse and report on condition-monitoring vibration data.
  • Understanding the creation of assets, points and routes within vibration analysis software.
  • Lubrication specification and recommendation experience.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and technical capability, with the ability to effectively collaborate, influence and inspire condition-monitoring best practices.
  • Ability to present technical information to a non-technical audience.
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving.
