Job Overview:

Manpower is seeking a 7.5T Delivery Driver for a permanent position with Manpower UK Limited's fantastic client based in Northampton. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a growing company, working in brand-new facilities with top-of-the-line equipment, while making a positive environmental impact.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Pre-trip inspection of the vehicle to ensure that it is in proper working order and complies with safety regulations.
  • Regular maintenance of the vehicle to ensure it remains in proper working order, and reporting any mechanical issues to the appropriate personnel.
  • Driving the vehicle in a safe and efficient manner, while adhering to traffic laws and complying with all safety regulations and procedures.
  • Safely loading and unloading cargo and ensuring it is secured according to safety regulations.
  • Delivering fresh oil to the catering/restaurant trade and collecting used cooking oil.
  • Making/taking payment for oil and maintaining accuracy with cash/pre-paid cards.
  • Communicating with dispatch and customers to provide updates on delivery times and any issues that arise during transport.
  • Accurate recording of information following oil delivery and/or collection, e.g., completion of Waste Transfer Notes.
  • Reporting of missed or failed deliveries on a daily basis to the Microsite Manager.
  • Building and maintaining good relationships with customers and prospective customers, assisting with sales efforts when required.

Requirements:

  • Driving Licence & Clean Record: A valid UK driving licence with no points or endorsements (up to 7.5T).
  • Van Driving Experience: Proven experience driving 7.5T in the UK, with a solid understanding of road laws and regulations (6 months minimum).
  • Valid CPC and Tachograph Card.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with the Transport Office, customers, and other drivers.
  • Professionalism: Maintain a professional appearance and conduct at all times.
  • Customer Service Orientation: A friendly, positive attitude with a willingness to engage with customers to enhance their experience.
  • Sales Experience (Desirable): Experience in business-to-business sales and achieving sales targets as part of a driving role would be an advantage but is not essential.
  • Safety Awareness: Strong knowledge of vehicle safety and workplace health and safety regulations.
  • Problem-Solving Ability: Ability to handle unexpected situations and demonstrate problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to Detail: A keen eye for detail, particularly when handling documents.
  • Reliability & Flexibility: A strong work ethic, reliability, and flexibility with work hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays if needed.
  • Willingness to Learn: After completing the probation period, the company may offer the opportunity to train towards a 7.5T licence, should it align with vacancy needs.
