Introduction to the Role

The Activities Coordinator is a key position responsible for planning and delivering engaging activities that enhance the physical and mental well-being of residents. Whether it's an interactive film day, a themed tearoom, or a lively sing-along session, you will create meaningful experiences for the individuals in Orchard Care Homes's care.

Main Duties

• Plan and gain approval for a diverse programme of group and individual events, in consultation with individuals, care staff, and relatives.
• Publicise the programme to ensure all residents have access to activities.
• Run all events, prioritizing patient safety, comfort, and enjoyment.
• Group events may include craft classes, music, films, quizzes, bingo, and reminiscence activities.
• Accompany residents on outings, ensuring adequate care staff and adherence to safety standards, particularly regarding mobility.
• Maintain financial records for all activities in line with the approved budget.
• Assist with fundraising activities to support programs.
• Manage the supply of equipment needed for activities.
• Organise visits from religious leaders and assist residents in attending religious services.
