Assistant Cook

Overview

Hours: 18 hours per week

Shift Pattern: Rota basis; Week 1 would be 2 shifts. Week 2 would be 4 shifts including that weekend.

Housing 21 is currently looking to recruit an Assistant Cook to join Housing 21's team. In this role, you will assist the cook in planning, preparing, and cooking meals and light refreshments, ensuring a varied and balanced diet for all service users, while catering to individual medical, cultural, or dietary requirements.

You will also ensure that the service is provided in a hygienic, efficient, and economical manner and deputize for the cook when necessary.

Responsibilities include:

• Experience of working in a kitchen
• Basic food hygiene
• Willingness to participate in training
• Understanding of different cleaning materials
• An understanding of varied diets, such as multi-cultural, diabetic, vegetarian, and low fat
