Would you like to be part of a creative and highly supportive Educational Psychology Service (EPS), learning to apply psychology to improve outcomes for children, young people/adults, their families, and staff in a range of educational settings?

East Sussex County Council is looking to take on two Assistant Educational Psychologists, one to be based in Lewes and the other in Eastbourne, with all the experience and support you need to apply to become an Educational Psychologist.

As an Assistant Educational Psychologist, you will:

  • Support the work of East Sussex County Council's Educational Psychologists.
  • Make a unique contribution to the inclusion of children and young people in their schools and colleges.
  • Learn about and apply psychological principles to foster educational and social inclusion.

East Sussex County Council is looking for candidates who:

  • Enable children and young people to participate meaningfully in decisions that affect them.
  • Hope to apply for the Doctorate in Educational Psychology.

Working with East Sussex EPS is an extremely supportive experience, as East Sussex County Council's service is based on shared values and a shared love of learning. You will be part of a small team of Assistant Educational Psychologists and Trainee Educational Psychologists, who are friendly and collaborative in their work.

You will have autonomy and flexibility in terms of working hours, including up to two days per week working from home. There is a generous travel allowance, and you’ll be working in a beautiful environment, including coastal, rural, and urban areas, each presenting unique challenges and rewards.

Your starting salary will be pro-rata if the position is part-time or term-time only.
