Acute Oncology Specialist Support Nurse

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a growing and dynamic Acute Oncology Service (AOS) within the East Suffolk & North Essex Foundation Trust. This position is part-time, requiring 19 hours per week.
Role Overview
Based within the Acute Oncology Service at Ipswich Hospital, you will develop and consolidate your existing skills in medical/oncological triage and the assessment of acutely unwell oncology patients. Your role will be pivotal in the coordination and further expansion of the service across both sites within the trust.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct over-the-phone assessments and inpatient rounds reviewing patients who present to the AOS unwell due to complications of malignancy or side effects of Systemic Anti-Cancer Treatments.
- Manage a dedicated patient caseload as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Support internal applicants currently employed by ESNEFT on a secondment basis, to be discussed with their line manager.
Qualifications and Skills Required
- Experience in triaging unwell medical and/or oncology/haematology patients.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work well within a multidisciplinary team.
Salary and Benefits
The salary range for this position is between £37,338 - £44,962 per annum pro rata. Additional benefits include:
