Responsibilities
As a Fix the Fells Assistant Ranger, you’ll focus on erosion control through upland path repair and preserving upland habitats. You'll learn to recognize erosion issues and apply various repair techniques.
Your daily tasks will involve:
- Surveying and building paths
- Maintaining green spaces
- Engaging with visitors to promote conservation
Working Conditions
This role requires:
- 37.5 hours of work per week, with some weekend availability
- Flexibility to adapt to changing weather conditions
- Ability to work in remote locations
Education and Skills

What to Expect
This position is based in Wasdale, where you will work closely with the West Lakes National Trust Ranger team. You'll represent the partnership organization Fix the Fells, managing countryside land and engaging with dedicated volunteers.
Your role will involve hiking in various terrains and ensuring the safety and well-being of both yourself and your team members.
