Responsibilities
The assistant technical agronomist role encompasses experience in all aspects of field trials throughout the agricultural year. You will collaborate with a team of agronomists in the BASF Agricultural Solutions Division, assisting with planning and executing various field trials to support BASF plc's development pipeline. This role involves reporting on project progress and results.
Your daily tasks will include product application, assessments, and harvesting trials as part of BASF plc's research and development initiatives. This placement offers a foundational introduction to agronomy and the significance of agricultural solutions for global food security. Successful candidates will gain valuable experience working with one of the world’s leading chemical companies and enhance their agronomic knowledge.
In addition to regular duties, there will be opportunities to lead personal projects based on your interests in agricultural solutions. Flexibility in working hours may be required during peak periods.
Qualifications
- You are pursuing a degree in Agriculture, Biology, or Agronomy.
- Proficient with IT programs, including Excel and PowerPoint.
- Self-motivated with strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
- Previous farm or agronomy-related experience is advantageous.
- You must have the right to work in the UK for the duration of the placement.
- A valid UK driving license is required, as the role involves travel and possible overnight stays.
- This is a 12-month placement with a target start date in summer 2025.
- Multiple locations are available throughout the UK, including Suffolk, Oxford-Herefordshire, and Yorkshire.
