Art Teacher/HLTA

Overview

Teaching Vacancies is seeking a skilled Art Teacher/Higher Level Teaching Assistant to provide PPA cover at Harris Primary Academy Orpington. The ideal candidate will possess:

• GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths – Grade C or above
• Level 2 qualified (or higher) in any art-related qualification
• HLTA qualification
• Experience of delivering art classes to primary-aged children
• Knowledge of the art National Curriculum
• The ability to encourage and inspire young people through art

Responsibilities

• Teaching primary-age children the art curriculum, including drawing, painting, collage, printing, sculpture, and textiles
• Planning, preparing, delivering, and assessing a range of CPD lessons, PPA cover, and extra-curricular club sessions
• Maintaining equipment associated with art sessions
• Establishing constructive relationships with external agencies
• Monitoring students in lessons and providing feedback
• Supporting identified students with learning objectives
• Using behaviour management strategies to create a positive learning environment
• Maintaining records of students' progress
• Supervising students during playground duties
