Business Support Manager

Overview
Posted:Queen Victoria Hospital NHS Foundation Trust have an exciting opportunity for a Business Manager to provide professional, proactive and flexible support to the Chief Operating Officer's areas of responsibility, aligned to the key Strategic Objectives and annual goals of QVH.
The successful candidate will have a passion for developing new processes, supporting service transformation, and implementing significant service redesign as part of Queen Victoria Hospital NHS Foundation Trust's strategic objectives. This role involves clearly defined areas of responsibility with specific programmes of work and will support the operational teams with change management programmes, as well as providing operational support for the delivery of Queen Victoria Hospital NHS Foundation Trust's new IT systems within the Trust.
Job Responsibilities
- Support the Key Strategic Objectives and annual goals within the COO's responsibilities, identifying variances and recommending interventions to address performance gaps.
- Coordinate the management of Integrated Quality and Performance Meetings to ensure they run efficiently and effectively.
- Produce operational performance reporting through the Integrated Quality and Performance Report, liaising with internal teams to provide insights for Board and Sub-committee reports.
- Provide briefings to the COO in advance of key meetings.
- Act as Quality Improvement Lead for the operations team, sharing learning and best practices across the Trust.
- Support the changing agenda of operational priorities with an agile approach.
- Develop and oversee the COO team action plan to address themes within the staff survey.
- Conduct external horizon scanning for new operational guidance and training opportunities.
- Support the development of business cases and policies by coordinating input from various sources.
- Ensure compliance with mandatory training and annual appraisals within the COO team.
- Review operational policies to ensure they are up to date with best practices.
- Lead on external reporting requirements to ensure timely delivery.
- Manage individual projects including data analysis, report writing, and surveys as needed.
- Develop policies and protocols, proposing changes that may impact the organization.
- Support the COO and senior team in developing services in line with local and national targets.
Person Specification
Qualifications
Essential
- Degree or Diploma or demonstrated specialist knowledge through practical experience.
Desirable
- Working towards a postgraduate qualification in management.
Experience
Essential
- Evidence of managing high-level reports.
- Experience in gathering and analyzing data and writing recommendations.
Desirable
- Experience within the NHS or public sector.
- Experience in project management.
