The Mental Health & Wellness Team (MH&WT) in Redbridge, previously known as the Community Recovery Team (CRT), is looking to recruit a Community Mental Health Nurse for a full-time vacancy. This role involves working within a dynamic and friendly multi-disciplinary team.
Job Summary
The successful candidate will coordinate a caseload of service users with complex and challenging needs. You will work closely with a multi-disciplinary team and other agencies to deliver recovery-focused health and social care interventions, including managing risks and safeguarding vulnerable adults.
Main Duties
- Deliver physical and mental health interventions in the wellness clinic.
- Provide managerial supervision to junior colleagues.
- Mentor MDT students.
- Participate in ongoing educational and research programs.
- Utilize good IT skills and knowledge of electronic recording systems.
- Work flexibly within the demands of the service.
About NELFT North East London Foundation Trust
Starting with NELFT: New starters will be welcomed and inducted into the Trust with a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks, including mandatory training and the allocation of equipment. This will occur at NELFT North East London Foundation Trust's head office in Rainham, Essex.
Probationary Period
This position is subject to a probationary period, although internal applicants may be exempt.
High-Cost Area Supplement
This role also attracts a High-Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (minimum payment of £4,551 and a maximum payment of £5,735), pro rata for part-time staff.
Qualifications Required
Essential
- NVQ level 2 or equivalent standard of literacy and numeracy.
- RMN. Registration with the relevant professional body.
- Teaching qualification or a specific job-related post-registration qualification.
- Evidence of Continuous Professional Development (CPD).
Experience
Essential
- Experience working with adults who have complex mental health needs.
- Experience in acute environments and liaising with multi-disciplinary teams.
- Ability to assess, plan, and initiate care under pressure.
- Capacity to work both independently and as part of a team.
Knowledge
Essential
- Understanding of the Care Act and its application.
- Knowledge of evidence-based best practices.
- Familiarity with the Mental Capacity Act and Community Treatment Orders.
- Awareness of the 1983 Mental Health Act and related legal guidance.
Skills
Essential
- Well-developed interpersonal skills for engaging with service users.
- Robust assessment skills for mental health presentations and risk profiling.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and foster positive working relationships.
