An exciting opportunity has arisen for Band 7 Asthma Outreach Nurse Specialist fixed term / secondment contracts until 01.11.2025 to deliver the health inequalities children and young people asthma management project.

Role Overview

Colchester Hospital University NHS Foundation Trust is looking for skilled and motivated professionals who can be flexible practitioners within the community setting, a good team player and be able to develop collaborative working relationships with other healthcare professionals, services, and agencies. You will also liaise closely with a broad range of disciplines and agencies, including Education, social services, voluntary agencies, and primary and secondary care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct clinical involvement and knowledge of paediatric asthma.
  • Support schools, GP Surgeries, and potentially pharmacies in achieving asthma kite mark standards.
  • Assist primary and secondary care with referrals of children with poor asthma control.
  • Improve asthma morbidity and non-elective attendances to primary and secondary care.

Work Environment

You will be based at either acute site setting or potentially work from community settings accordingly.
