Cover Teacher

Overview

The role of Cover Teacher is essential in maintaining educational continuity in Teaching Vacancies's institution. Responsibilities include:

• Cover Supervision: Deliver lesson content and supervise classes in the absence of the teacher. Ensure students understand the assignments set by the absent teacher. Manage student behavior to foster a positive learning environment. Document attendance and report any behavioral issues per school policies. Provide feedback on progress to the returning teacher.
• Curriculum Support: When not supervising, assist in delivering courses in Film & TV, Games, Music, Language Arts, and Maths through: Team teaching and aiding student learning. Taking on regular classes focusing on written components of the UAL course. Teaching a Music R&D class.
• Assessment Support: Support the Music team with: Marking written elements of the UAL course. Using ELAM systems for feedback and assessments. Participating in moderation to ensure fair grading.
• Cross-Centre Support: Including: Supervising students during independent study. Engaging in cross-centre duties. Conducting one-on-one sessions with trainees.
