Overview
As The Montcalm London Marble Arch's Director of Restaurants and Events, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the culinary identity of The Montcalm London Marble Arch's preopening hotel in Marble Arch, London. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of food and beverage operations, which includes restaurant breakfast service, executive lounge, and The Montcalm London Marble Arch's Room Service & Bar operation. Your creativity, leadership, and strategic vision will be instrumental in establishing The Montcalm London Marble Arch's Food and Beverage as a premier destination in London's vibrant dining scene.
Key Responsibilities
- Promote The Montcalm Marble Arch to becoming a recognized culinary destination by creating memorable guest experiences through artistry and uncompromised passion for excellence.
- Participate in the preparation of the annual departmental operating budget and financial plans. Monitor budget and control expenses with a focus on food, beverage, and labour costs.
- Identify additional sales opportunities to enhance revenue in partnership with other department heads.
- Ensure all credit and financial transactions are handled securely.
- Direct day-to-day staffing requirements, planning and assigning work, and establishing performance and development goals for team members.
- Educate and train all team members in compliance with governmental regulations and ensure they are properly trained in quality and service standards.
- Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments.
- Ensure cleanliness and proper stocking of all food and beverage facilities and equipment.
- Establish and achieve quality and guest satisfaction goals. Respond promptly to all guest questions, complaints, and requests.
- Solicit guest feedback to improve food and presentation quality.
- Manage local food and beverage marketing programmes for the hotel and monitor local competitors and industry trends.
- Ensure the security and proper storage of food and beverage products, inventory, and equipment.
- Ensure that all menu items are prepared and presented according to established recipes and standards.
- Adhere to governmental regulations and hotel policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Qualifications & Attributes
- Passion for delivering exceptional culinary service experiences to diverse clientele.
- A degree qualified, preferably in Hospitality.
- Minimum 3 - 5 years experience in a similar position ideally in a 5 Star property Hotel.
- Prior experience working in restaurants with a focus on Mediterranean cuisine.
- Comprehensive understanding of culinary principles, food trends, and industry best practices.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to inspire and motivate teams.
- Excellent financial acumen to develop and manage budgets.
- Exceptional communication and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and F&B management software.
