Summary
Sunderland City Council has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and experienced Environmental Services Manager to support the delivery of Local Environmental Services. This role encompasses the maintenance and management of grounds, sports pitches, parks, open spaces, and street cleansing.
The position will also include participation in the winter maintenance service provision. Sunderland's City Plan aims to create a safe, clean, and welcoming environment in every neighbourhood, ensuring residents feel proud of where they live.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality local environmental services.
- Build effective relationships with partners and communities.
- Develop and review service delivery plans and resource allocation.
- Implement safe systems of work and manage associated risks.
- Maintain a commitment to service excellence and continuous improvement.
The successful candidate will possess excellent interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal, along with strong literacy, numeracy, and customer service skills. They should have relevant qualifications at degree level or equivalent, as well as extensive experience in environmental services.
