Job Responsibilities

Gloucestershire County Council is currently recruiting for a Social Worker to join Gloucestershire County Council's Fostering Kinship Assessment team on a permanent basis.

About the Team

Gloucestershire County Council is a supportive well-established team looking for a self-motivated, organised, and flexible Social Worker. The team is responsible for assessing kinship carers, both foster carers and Special Guardians, and providing support to those under regulation 24 assessment (temporarily approved foster carers). A willingness to travel is essential as Gloucestershire County Council undertake assessments considering the prospective carers' ability to provide therapeutic and nurturing care to children in care.

About You

You should be familiar with the relevant legislative processes relating to Fostering and possess good problem-solving skills and excellent written and verbal communication skills. Gloucestershire County Council is looking for well-informed and dynamic individuals who understand kinship assessments and the recruitment process for carers.

Requirements:

  • Social Work England registration
  • A recognised qualification in Social Work
  • Completion of your ASYE year (if qualified after 2012)
  • A full driving licence and willingness to drive
  • DBS clearance
