The role: If you have a passion for gardening, plants, and helping the environment, York St John University have the job for you! You will be part of a dedicated gardening team maintaining multiple sites, including one of the most beautiful gardens in central York. You'll ensure all York St John University's gardens and wider estate are beautifully presented and well cared for.

York St John University have an opportunity available to join York St John University's dedicated Grounds maintenance team on a permanent basis. York St John University is looking for a dynamic, conscientious gardener who is a good team player and enjoys working in a team environment. The sites range from gardens surrounded by historic buildings to modern architecture and developing areas for biodiversity. In addition to maintenance, you will assist with the care, cultivation, and day-to-day upkeep of York St John University's student accommodation grounds and sports complex.

Required skills and experience:

• City & Guild/NVQ or equivalent horticultural qualification, or a proven track record in horticulture.
• Experience of working as a Gardener on a professional basis.
• Ability to work as part of a team or individually using own initiative.
• A flexible attitude to work.

Additional information: It is anticipated the interview process will include a panel interview. Unfortunately, this role is not eligible for Skilled Worker Visa sponsorship; however, York St John University welcome your application if you can evidence your right to work in the UK via an alternative route.
