Overview

Manage and lead the educational establishment to benefit the children and wider community, in compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and guidance issued by the Scottish Government and East Ayrshire Council. This role will assist with the promotion, delivery, and integration of the Council’s key objectives, specifically related to:

  • Community Plan
  • Shared Commitments
  • Single Outcome Agreement
  • Children and Young Person’s Service Plan
  • Best Value

Requirements

This position requires a Catholic Teaching Certificate and RC approval at HT level. The duties of the role involve Regulated Work with children and/or protected adults, as specified in the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Successful applicants will need to become a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme member in respect of Regulated Work, or if already a member, be subject to a PVG Scheme Record Update before any formal employment offer can be made.

Responsibilities

East Ayrshire Council adhere to national guidance regarding pre-employment checks, namely “Safer Recruitment Through Better Recruitment”. During your application process, you should provide details of at least two relevant references, with one being from your current or most recent employer. The reference must be from an appropriate senior manager, not from a peer at the same level.

The Individual

This is a permanent full-time post located within St Sophia's Primary School, Galston. The working hours are 35 hours per week, scheduled Monday to Friday as directed by the line manager. The full-time salary for this position is £66,072 per annum.
