Job Responsibilities

  • Technical risk assessment of systems, hardware, and new processes.
  • Supporting projects with the development of secure design of systems.
  • Supporting the investigation of security incidents.
  • Delivering cyber awareness training and business continuity training to a range of stakeholders.
  • Assisting in the creation and review of business continuity plans.
  • Supporting the development of good data protection practices with privacy by design at the forefront of your knowledge.

Candidate Criteria

  • Have a thirst for personal development.
  • Like to keep up to date on latest technologies and advances in the world of Information Security and Data Protection.
  • Have experience in at least one of the professional fields of information security, data protection, or IT risk management.

Training and Development

You will be well supported when it comes to training and development by a friendly and positive team who pride themselves on delivering a great service to the council. Candidates will be required to attend onsite meetings in East Sussex and must be able to travel independently around Sussex.

Working Arrangements

East Sussex County Council is offering hybrid working arrangements, primarily working from home but with the opportunity to work with the team in East Sussex County Council's Lewes office. East Sussex County Council have two positions available: one is permanent and the second is for a 12-month fixed term.
