Job Position: Malting Engineer

Location: Bury St Edmunds

Salary: £40,000 - £45,000

Shift Patterns:

• 06:00 - 18:00 for 3 days
• 18:00 - 06:00 for 2 days
• 4 days off
• 06:00 - 18:00 for 2 days
• 18:00 - 06:00 for 2 days
• 3 days off in rotation

Responsibilities:

• Perform corrective and preventive mechanical maintenance
• Repair production and processing equipment as well as utility-related equipment
• Support the installation of new equipment
• Document all repairs
• Maintain a clean, orderly work area
• Complete all paperwork neatly and correctly
• Participate in continuous improvement programs
• Comply with procedures, regulations, and policies
• Report unsafe operations and use mandatory PPE
• Be flexible in working hours as per business needs

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in machinery repair and maintenance in food or drink manufacturing
• Level 3 NVQ in engineering and 18th Edition preferable but not essential
• Awareness of HACCP, food hygiene, and safety requirements
• Fluent English and computer skills
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Teamwork experience
