NELFT is the largest provider of Mental Health Support Teams (MHSTs) in England, currently covering 48% of secondary and primary schools within NELFT North East London Foundation Trust's footprint. The MHST provides evidence-based individual and group interventions in educational settings for children with mild to moderate mental health difficulties, focusing on whole-school approaches.
Main Duties of the Job
As a Senior Clinician and Supervisor, you will be a graduate-qualified health care professional with a current UK Professional Registration. You will supervise junior staff, hold a caseload, and work closely with partner agencies to co-produce training materials and deliver whole school interventions.
- Collaborate with schools, children, young people, and families to develop intervention plans and agreed outcomes.
- Assist the Locality Clinical Lead with treatment and management plans using psychological interventions.
- Manage a caseload of children and young people, conducting assessments, risk evaluations, care plans, and reviews.
- Provide supervision to Trainee Education Mental Health Practitioners and other staff.
- Work within a Multi-Disciplinary Team locally and across Essex.
- Operate autonomously and as part of a team.
Qualifications
Essential
- Completion of a graduate training program (nursing, social work, occupational therapy) and eligibility for professional registration.
- Accredited courses and training programs in related fields.
Desirable
- Completion of EMHP or IAPT Supervisory Course.
Experience
Essential
- At least 2 years of experience with evidence-based approaches to mental health issues in children and young people.
- Experience in managing and supervising staff and caseloads.
- Collaboration with partner agencies to develop materials for presentations.

- Experience in educational settings.

- Ability to manage a clinical caseload effectively.
- Strong report writing and communication skills.
