Maternity Support Worker

Overview

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Maternity Care Assistant (MCA) to step into a Band 3 Midwifery Support Worker (MSW) role on Mulberry Ward (postnatal).

Barts Health NHS Trust is looking for a highly motivated MCA band 2 to work under the supervision of the midwife to assist and support postnatal women and their babies on Mulberry Ward. Essential is the completion of the MSW workbook to apply.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist midwifery staff in supporting the care needs of women and their babies.
• Undertake assigned tasks and appropriate interventions for women and their babies with minimal supervision under the direction of the midwife.
• Work in a flexible manner regarding hospital placements and shift patterns depending on service needs.
• Provide leadership and support to junior colleagues and ensure high standards are maintained in a safe environment.

Requirements

• Completion of the MSW workbook.
• Ability to work flexibly within the service's needs.
• Strong leadership skills.

Salary and Benefits

The salary for this position ranges from £28,622 to £30,225 per annum, inclusive of pro rata.

Contract Duration

Although this position is an 11-month fixed-term contract, the actual contract duration will be adjusted to account for the time taken to advertise the post and complete pre-employment checks.
