National Trust’re looking for a Fire Risk Assessor to join National Trust, covering the London & South East and East of England Region. Internally this role is known as: Operational Risk Assessor – Fire.
In this position, you'll primarily work within your home region and be responsible for conducting property-based fire risk assessments. A full UK driving licence is required, and you should be willing to travel, which may involve overnight stays as necessary.
As this role covers the London and South East region, your contractual place of work will be the nearest National Trust consultancy office to your home. National Trust's hybrid working policy allows you to balance office and home working with site visits and meetings at other National Trust locations. Expect to be on-site for 40–60% of your working week.

What you'll be doing
You will undertake various fire risk assessments on National Trust historic houses and larger holiday accommodations, as well as other building types as required. Your tasks will include:
- Reviewing existing fire risk assessments against established National Trust policy to produce revised assessments identifying specific mitigations.
- Professional Indemnity Insurance is provided for employees undertaking this role while conducting National Trust business.
Who National Trust're looking for
National Trust welcome candidates with a range of experience. You don't need to meet all qualifications but should have some of the following:
- Relevant qualification in fire safety & fire risk assessment (e.g., Fire Protection Association, NEBOSH, Graduate of the Institute of Fire Engineers)
- Experience in fire risk management and fire risk assessment
- Recognition on a national register for fire risk assessors or comparable practical experience
- Working knowledge of current fire safety legislation, building regulations, and technical standards
- Knowledge of working within the heritage environment
- Understanding of sleeping risk environments
