Overview

Guardian News & Media is now looking for a to provide administrative support to the Legacies of Enslavement programme team.

Legacies of Enslavement is a 10-year restorative justice initiative launched in response to the Guardian founders' links to transatlantic slavery. This position is a fixed-term contract for two years.

About the Role

  • Support and document key project meetings.
  • Organise travel bookings, including any visa or entry requirements and insurance for the team.
  • Assist in day-to-day budget management, processing expenses, invoices, and payments to freelancers.
  • Maintain the team's administration and operational processes, including programme contacts, engagements, and impact trackers.
  • Work with the Programme Coordinator to support the Restorative Justice workstream, particularly in monitoring community engagement.
  • Support the Scott Trust Bursaries and Mid-Career Fellowships workstreams.

About You

  • At least three years of relevant administration experience.
  • Experience supporting multiple individuals concurrently and those based overseas.
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments.
  • Proficiency in working efficiently and effectively without supervision.
  • Experience coordinating complex work projects, such as travel itineraries or cross-organisational schemes.
  • Previous experience in a social or racial justice-oriented role is preferred but not essential.
  • Experience with international programmes is a plus.
  • A demonstrable ability to bring a diverse perspective to this role is highly valued.
