Principal Solicitor

Overview

This is an exciting opportunity to join CITY OF LINCOLN COUNCIL's Legal Service team as a Principal Solicitor, leading CITY OF LINCOLN COUNCIL's non-contentious and commercial work.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for:

• Advising client departments on contracts and strategic commercial property matters.
• Providing a comprehensive service to support the Legal Service Manager.
• Managing property transactions, including both residential and commercial properties.
• Contributing to high-profile capital projects and obtaining funding.
• Assisting in the negotiation of terms and conditions, including drafting contracts.
• Advising on services agreements and grant funding agreements.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will:

• Be a qualified Solicitor or Barrister.
• Have experience in local government law.
• Provide advice on various areas of law, particularly contract and property law.
• Draft reports for Executive and relevant committees.
• Demonstrate good negotiating skills.
• Be commercially minded.

Shift and Schedule

Flexitime schedule, Monday to Friday.

Salary and Benefits

Annual salary ranges from £49,942 to £53,108.
