Peer Support Worker

Overview

The Peer Support Worker will act as a recovery champion in clinical and non-clinical environments, empowering individuals to achieve their goals. Responsibilities include maintaining patient health records, participating in service user forums, and promoting service delivery quality.

Main Duties

• Establish supportive relationships with service users.
• Assist individuals in identifying recovery goals.
• Share coping and self-management techniques.
• Facilitate access to community groups.
• Support service users in appointments.
• Liaise with health professionals to meet recovery needs.
• Undertake administrative duties to assist care delivery.

Qualifications

• GCSE/NVQ 2 or equivalent.
• Willingness to work toward NVQ 3.

Knowledge and Experience

• Lived experience of mental health challenges.
• Experience supporting individuals in recovery.

Skills

• Understanding of Intentional Peer Support.
• Effective listening and communication skills.
• Good interpersonal skills.
