The base

The team

The Quantitative Risk team, part of Group Risk, is responsible for:

•    Group oversight of models
•    Development of risk models
•    Group oversight of business critical tools

This role reports to the Head of Quantitative Risk.


What you'll do

Participate in the team research process and validate models used by businesses within Schroders across all asset classes, including new products

•    Write model validation reports and participate in building and strengthening the overall model governance framework for the firm
•    Present validation findings at the Group Model Governance Committee
•    Assist with the development and running of risk models, e.g. performance & risk attribution, operational risk loss models, stress testing approaches
•    Build tools to assist in the risk management process

The knowledge, experience and qualifications you need

•    Educated in a quantitative subject to at least Masters level
•    Greater than 5 years of relevant investment or practical risk experience preferably on the buy side
•    Experience of coding in Python or R
•    Ability to work under own initiative, must be proactive in identifying points of weakness and suggesting solutions
•    Robust under challenge, must be willing to make recommendations and defend these under pressure
•    Strong interpersonal skills including tact, patience and courtesy. Must be able to challenge whilst building and maintaining positive relationships
•    Team player able to build strong relationships with the wider Risk team and work collaboratively with stakeholders
