The customer service team delivers the front-line service for Housing Benefits and Council Tax Support. You must be motivated, confident, and committed to delivering the best service to all South Cambridgeshire District Council's customers.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Dealing with customers in person, on the telephone, and via email.
- Adapting your style for different people and circumstances.
- Maintaining calm and assertiveness in difficult situations.
- Gathering information and supporting documents for claims processing.
- Contributing to team improvements and meeting targets.
Excellent IT skills are essential as technology becomes increasingly important in South Cambridgeshire District Council's operations. You will be provided with on-the-job training and opportunities for external training courses to enhance your development.
The Council operates a hybrid working policy, allowing teams to establish their own working arrangements. You will be expected to attend the office 2 or 3 times per week for specific responsibilities.
Benefits knowledge is desirable, particularly regarding the ongoing Welfare Reforms and assisting customers during the cost of living crisis.
