Religious Worker - Deputy Choir Coordinator

Overview

The Celestial Church of Christ, Salvation Ark Parish is seeking a dedicated and musically gifted Deputy Choir Coordinator to support CELESTIAL CHURCH OF CHRIST SALVATION ARK PARISH's worship services by organizing and managing the choir. This role will focus on preparing music that enhances the spiritual experience of the congregation through worship, in close collaboration with the church leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Supporting Religious Services through Music: Assist in planning and coordinating musical selections for worship services, ensuring alignment with the spiritual theme and message of the service. Lead rehearsals to prepare the choir for weekly services and special religious events, ensuring a high level of musical and spiritual preparation.
• Managing and Coordinating the Choir: Oversee and manage choir members, helping them develop musically and spiritually. Organize choir rehearsals and ensure the smooth running of musical aspects during services. Assist in recruiting new choir members and providing necessary training.
• Preparing for Religious Worship: Collaborate with the church's Minister of Religion and service leaders to integrate music into the broader worship experience. Ensure the choir is prepared for special occasions, such as religious holidays, outreach events, and community services. Work closely with other church departments to coordinate musical needs for events and programs.
• Administrative and Organizational Support: Assist with scheduling, organizing music sheets, and managing the logistical needs of the choir. Liaise with other church staff and volunteers to coordinate the smooth execution of all music-related activities.

Qualifications and Skills Required

• Strong commitment to faith and understanding of the Celestial Church of Christ's teachings and hymns.
• Proven experience in musical direction, choir management, or related fields within a religious setting.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and coordinate volunteers.
• Ability to work collaboratively with the church leadership, choir members, and congregation.
• Strong communication skills to engage and inspire choir members and the congregation through music.
• Knowledge of celestial music and how it integrates into religious services.

• Enhanced DBS Check: As this role involves working closely with members of the congregation, including vulnerable individuals, a current DBS check is required prior to the appointment.
