About the Role

Ocado Retail is seeking a Senior Buyer for Speciality Foods to join Ocado Retail's team. In this role, you will be responsible for optimizing your supply base and product range, utilizing data and analysis to maximize performance, drive sales, profitability, and share growth in alignment with Ocado Retail's strategy.

What You'll Do

• Manage the category P&L and deliver against KPIs.
• Conduct category reviews to refine range and align with business strategy.
• Plan and execute trade promotions and events.
• Identify opportunities to increase customer penetration.
• Enhance all-in margin through supplier negotiations.
• Implement market-leading plans in collaboration with suppliers.
• Analyze performance issues and develop solutions.
• Source innovative products utilizing customer insights.
• Develop category strategy with support from Trading Manager.
• Ensure alignment of range changes with business strategy.
• Manage supplier relationships to drive engagement and performance.
• Coordinate with merchandise planning for optimal availability.
• Create plans to mitigate potential supply chain issues.
• Ensure product quality meets Ocado standards.
• Provide coaching and feedback to category assistants.

Who You Are

• Significant (5 years+) experience in retail buying and some management experience.
• Passionate about retail and food.
• Proficient in Excel with experience handling customer, transactional, or financial data.
• Strong leadership and people management skills.
• Exceptional negotiation and influencing abilities.
• Project management capabilities.
• Able to analyze complex datasets.
