Senior Clerical Officer

Renfrewshire Council is looking for a well-organised individual to ensure an effective clerical support service is provided to Renfrewshire Council's stakeholders and customers.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Providing effective financial business support service, including handling and recording of Council and client fund monies.
- Processing manual and computerised financial, client and service information.
- Producing and analysing reports.
- Document production including typing letters and reports.
- Processing purchase orders.
- Providing basic IT assistance and checking work of employees.
- Offering advice and guidance to clerical assistants.
Work Environment
You will work as part of the Customer & Business Services team supporting multiple social work establishments across Renfrewshire. You may work independently or as part of an onsite team and will be the first point of contact for clerical support.
Qualifications and Skills
It is essential to have experience in a clerical role and a wide range of support duties, including:
- Experience with Microsoft Excel and databases.
- The ability to work in a team and independently.
- Effective customer service skills.
- Self-motivated and resilient.
Desirable Qualifications
Knowledge of procurement systems and previous supervisory experience are desirable, along with an SVQ Level 3 in Business Administration or equivalent.
