About the Role
Colchester Hospital University NHS Foundation Trust's theatre suites comprise of 17 theatres, including:
- One inpatient theatre which is a hybrid vascular theatre used for vascular and interventional radiological procedures
- Three new state-of-the-art robotic systems for abdominal and pelvic surgery
- Three theatres integrated for laparoscopic use
Training and Shifts
You will receive excellent in-house training to support all areas of working across Anaesthetics. A flexible approach to working shifts is required. Colchester Hospital University NHS Foundation Trust's shift patterns are:
- 07:45-18:00
- 07:45-20:00
- 19:45-08:00
- On call: 07:30-19:30, 19:30-07:30 (includes 7-day week cover)
Responsibilities
- Assist to co-ordinate the provision of a timely, high standard, cost-effective, and safe Elective/Emergency theatre service.
- Develop collaborative relationships between the multi-professional team and geographical areas, supporting the patient’s journey.
- Work alongside the Clinical Theatre Leads under the direction of the Theatres Matron to ensure continuous quality assurance.
