First Strokes Swim Schools Limited is an award winning swim school, using its own purpose built teaching pools and private pools. Currently operating from four locations, First Strokes Swim Schools Ltd cover every aspect of swimming lessons and teaching.

As First Strokes Swim Schools Ltd continue to invest in both First Strokes Swim Schools Ltd's facilities and team members, First Strokes Swim Schools Ltd is now looking to take on an apprentice at First Strokes Swim Schools Ltd's Centre in Stanway, Colchester.

This is a fantastic opportunity for those who are looking to become a qualified swim teacher and gain work experience in the leisure industry at the same time.

Part of the role will include administration tasks in an office and a swimming teaching environment including telephone calls, taking course bookings, answering enquiries, and dealing face to face with parents and children.

Practical experience will also be available on poolside assisting in swimming lessons in addition to the office role and training as a Swimming Teacher.

No experience necessary but a background in swimming or sport would be helpful.

You will be given an “Individual Learning Plan” for the following qualifications which you will undertake in and around your working hours:

• National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ)
• ASA Level 1 in Swimming Assistant (Teaching)
• ASA Level 2 in Teaching Swimming
• 11 Module - Level 3 in Duty Manager lifetime course

The post will be a minimum of 30 hours per week and will include some weekend and evening work.

Pay starts at £6.40 per hour during the apprenticeship.

There will be employment opportunities available once the apprenticeship is completed.
