Home not Hospital is currently recruiting Autism Support Workers to support individuals with autism and/or learning disabilities within a supported living residence in the Carlisle area.
Role Description
At Person Centred Living, Home not Hospital is committed to equal opportunities. Home not Hospital currently have a great opportunity for dedicated Autism Support Workers to work with individuals who have a learning disability, autism, and mental health support needs. The individuals will be living in their own homes within a supported living residence, so Home not Hospital is looking for Autism Support Workers who can provide 360 wrap-around support that covers all aspects of their life throughout the day and night. Support Workers will be playing an active role in engaging individuals within their community, requiring creative thinking skills to adapt support, and assistance with physically energetic activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide support during both the good and challenging times in individuals' daily lives.
- Have a good understanding of autism/mental health and its impact on daily living.
- Understand autism and have experience working with autistic individuals.
- Be a positive advocate for them.
- Be consistent in actions and explanations.
- Motivate them in a supportive manner.
- Be patient and understanding, especially on difficult days.
- Exhibit a fun and kind personality to foster positive experiences.
- Assist in solving issues and overcoming daily tasks.
- Engage with individuals to foster personal connections.
- Collaborate with a team to deliver exceptional person-centred care.
- Think creatively to adapt support strategies.
- Maintain a balance between fun and professionalism.

Licence/Certification:
- Autism (preferred)
Referral Bonus Details:
- £125 once the referred individual has successfully completed their first shift.
- £125 once the referred individual has successfully completed their probation period.
