Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust's team as a Band 6 night co-ordinator, covering the Boroughs of St Helens, Knowsley, Halton, and Warrington. You will support the Mental Health Care Division in ensuring inpatient areas are managed safely and effectively over a 24-hour period. Your role will involve delivering high standards of care to Service Users, providing support, supervision, and education for colleagues, other professionals, and students.

Main duties of the job

  • Provide clinical advice, expertise, and leadership to all Ward Staff across Mid Mersey.
  • Liaise with family members and significant others regarding Service Users' assessments.
  • Direct and supervise ward staff to ensure delivery of high standards of care.
  • Communicate sensitive information to Service Users and families effectively.
  • Support divisional managers in managing ward resources to maximize care.
  • Liaise with other professionals to ensure high-quality service delivery.
  • Document incidents as per Trust policy and take follow-up action.
  • Ensure safe administration of medication following Nursing and Midwifery Council regulations.
  • Be flexible to mobilize across divisions as required to provide support.

Person Specification

Qualifications

  • Registered Mental Health Nurse.
  • Evidence of post-registration study/continuing professional development (desirable).

Experience

  • Relevant experience at band 5 or above.
  • Minimum of 2 years working with individuals with Mental Health issues.
  • Proven experience of leadership and management (desirable).

Knowledge

  • Effective verbal and non-verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Mental Health legislation and nursing interventions.
  • Clinical risk management and safety knowledge.
  • Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
